Good morning

Thank you for this wise advice.

My brake lights no longer came on, I looked at your tutorial seriously.

I removed and unplugged my contactor, then pulled the rod out one notch.

Then I put it all back together and it works great.

Backup solution while waiting to get a new contactor

Thank you again a thousand times

Thank you very much for this tutorial!

I had a problem with my cruise control refusing to activate 4 times out of 5. Then I was informed that my brake lights were not always working (from time to time, so it was not the bulbs).

So I ordered an equivalent of this contactor by searching with the OEM number (manufacturer's reference number) indicated on the part to be changed.

Very easy to change . You just have to be careful to shorten the new part by gently reducing the notched piston to the same length as the old part (and no more otherwise the new part risks becoming incompatible)!

My old contactor didn't seem to be damaged at all, but the change to a new model was radical: my cruise control works perfectly again, as do the brake lights! All for only ten euros!

I chose the German brand FEBI BILSTEIN , which makes pretty good spare parts according to the reviews I've seen on the web.

Hello everyone.

Small problem for me, I replaced my contactor but big problems: when I brake, it deactivates the lights, and when I do not brake, they remain on. However, I took the model recommended above in the article…

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Thanks, great tutorial.

However, I did not need to remove the soundproofing panel. By positioning yourself as you can from below the pedals you have direct access. It's more annoying but faster and does not require anything to be disassembled, it's up to you :)

Thanks, it worked for me!

There is no particular need to remove the clip on the right side of the car radio. It's always a gain, especially because for me I couldn't get it out.

Small clarification for those who want to first be sure that the problem comes from the switch before buying a new one: it works like a push button but reversed. That is to say that it is when the rod is completely out that the headlights come on, and not when you press it like most buttons. You will see it anyway when you press the pedal that the rod comes out and not the other way around. To test it, just take it in your hand by making a 1/4 turn and see if in the out position it works well. For my part, I thought it was working again but in fact it was 1 day out of 2... I did well to order one. In any case, if you have had the case of the regulator which deactivates for nothing, it is worth changing it for the price.
