It is necessary to unscrew the 4 screws fixing the console (2 screws at the back in the storage under the small rectangular felt plate)

The other 2 screws are located under the TRC Off switch support plate (plate that should be lifted with a flat screwdriver and removed after disconnecting it as well as the cigarette lighter located at the back of the console).

Remove the console, access to the setting is now fully accessible

To begin, release the lock nut (10 mm socket wrench) while holding the other nut (10 mm flat wrench).

Tighten gradually until the wheels lock, then loosen until the wheels can rotate freely (no friction should remain)

    • Check that the wheels are locked when the lever is pulled 4 to 5 notches. Lock the lock nut while holding the other nut with the 10 mm flat spanner.

    • Proceed to reassemble the console and ground the car.

For information, there is another adjustment mode which consists of bringing the jaws closer to the drum using a wheel accessible through a hole in the drum (Tightening in the direction of the red arrow). This system with drum for the handbrake rarely requires going through this adjustment mode. The jaws specific to the handbrake wear very little

    • In the picture the drum disc is removed to show how the manual play adjustment works. The wheel is rotated using a flat screwdriver inserted into a hole in the drum.

I imagine that you have adjusted your brake perfectly, it is so much more pleasant (and effective) to engage only a few notches rather than bringing the lever to the level of the armrest!
