Introduction

Tutorial made on a Peugeot 207 1.6 hdi

  1. 
Rotate the pin with flat screwdriver

Remove the pin then the cage

Loosen the nut with a 36 socket and a pressure tube (pivot the wheels for better access)
    • Rotate the pin with flat screwdriver

    • Loosen the nut with a 36 socket and a pressure tube (pivot the wheels for better access)

    • Loosen the wheel bolts

    • Raise and chock the vehicle

    • Remove the wheels

Placer a bin under the cork

Remove the key cap from 21
    • Placer a bin under the cork

    • Remove the key cap from 21

    • Replace the copper seal (diameter 14) at the end of the drain and close

Remove the ball joint retaining bolt, nut, key 16 and screw, key 17

Slide a force bar between the gimbal and the triangle

Place the bar against the frame
    • Remove the ball joint retaining bolt, nut, key 16 and screw, key 17

    • Slide a force bar between the gimbal and the triangle

    • Place the bar against the frame

Press the bar so as to lower the triangle to release the ball joint
    • Press the bar so as to lower the triangle to release the ball joint

    • Use penetrating oil or a hammer to make the maneuver easier.

Pull the hub and hold the cardan shaft

To go out the gimbal by pulling on the box side

Protect the ball joint bellows with a cloth
    • Pull the hub and hold the cardan shaft

    • To go out the gimbal by pulling on the box side

    • Protect the ball joint bellows with a cloth

Loosen the bearing flanges without removing them (long 11 socket)

Move back and then rotate the flanges 180° to release the bearing.

    • Move back and then rotate the flanges 180° to release the bearing.

Slide the gimbal to the right to completely disengage it

Protect the bellows of the kneecap with a cloth

Clean and grease the bearing
    • Slide the gimbal to the right to completely disengage it

    • Protect the bellows of the kneecap with a cloth

    • Clean and grease the bearing

    • Reassemble everything by doing the steps in reverse order.

    • Don't forget to top up the gearbox oil level

1.9 l of oil, from above under the battery

We must not forget it, but how do we put the oil back in the box?

Maybe there are some special features for reassembling the cardan???
