Remove the 2 nuts with a 13mm wrench

To remove the collar, insert a screwdriver between the 2 parts of the collar and turn it 1/4 turn clockwise.

Clean the rocker cover with a suitable product

    • There may be a more or less significant layer of yellowish material due to water infiltration, or more seriously to a passage of coolant in the oil. Hence the need to replace this seal.

Reassemble the inner protection plate

If possible, also replace the sealing washer of the two M8 screws - 13 mm spanner.

Reinstall the rocker cover
    • Reassemble the inner protection plate

    • Reinstall the rocker cover

Reassemble the 4 screws and the breather collar in reverse order.
    • Reassemble the 4 screws and the breather collar in reverse order.

I broke a screw on the rocker cover when reassembling, impossible to find the screws

Seal change completed thank you very much, the collar was difficult to put back but with a little patience and cutting pliers (the cutting ends allowed the folded part of the collar to pass through) it was done.

Couple 1mkg, the risk is rather to crush the new seal, therefore leaks…

The newer models have 10mm nuts, not 13mm.
