Introduction
The TDC sensor tells the computer the position and speed of the engine. It is also called a "pulse generator" or "engine speed sensor". If it is faulty and does not send a signal, the car will start very poorly or not at all.
This is a fairly common problem on fuel injected TU engines.
I removed the engine fan and the exhaust manifold sheet metal in order to have clearer photos for this tutorial. It is not necessary to touch them to change the sensor.
Tools
Parts
-
-
The TDC sensor is located in front of the engine
-
under the thermostat housing, between the engine and the gearbox
-
if you have trouble locating it, I took apart some parts (see details in the intro), the sensor is in the area circled in blue
-
-
-
remove the hot air hose to gain easier access to the sensor
-
It is flexible so easy to remove.
-
the sensor is already more visible
-
-
-
Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry the tab away from the sensor socket and pull the socket down
-
remove the sensor retaining screw using a 10mm socket wrench
-
remove the sensor
-
-
-
compare sensors (shape, connections)
-
The OEM part number for this sensor is 1920AW.
-
-
-
Place the new sensor, making sure that it is firmly in place everywhere
-
The sensor has a lug on its upper part that will need to be inserted into its housing on the engine. In any case, the sensor will only stick everywhere if it is well positioned.
-
tighten the retaining screw using the 10mm socket wrench
-
connect the sensor (you should hear a "click")
-

Hello, do you have any idea of the location of the "vehicle speed sensor A" OBD fault code P0608 for a C3 1 1.4 L 73 CV 2002 Automatic transmission? Could it be a wheel speed sensor or an automatic transmission sensor housed under the battery box?
The comments on the sales sites are of no use.
Sincerely

Good evening, from memory it's the same thing on tu1jp. I think it's also the same sensor reference.
