Introduction

This tutorial shows how to change the air flow meter on Citroen C5 1.6 hdi 110

  1. 
Connect the diagnostic tool to the car's OBD socket and turn on the ignition

the car displays a P0104 fault on the suitcase: air intake sensor - open circuit, short circuit to + or ground

    • Remember to turn off the ignition after the diagnosis.

remove the top cover

pull the plug tab lightly

and unplug
    • remove the top cover

    • pull the plug tab lightly

    • and unplug

unscrew the 2 hose clamps, 7mm wrench (or screwdriver)

unclip the plastic part of the pipe (be careful, this part is fragile)

dislodge at the flow meter and turbo and remove the line
    • unscrew the 2 hose clamps, 7mm wrench (or screwdriver)

    • unclip the plastic part of the pipe (be careful, this part is fragile)

    • dislodge at the flow meter and turbo and remove the line

  4. 
lift the air box slightly to dislodge it (there are 4 lugs in total)

unscrew the 3 flow meter retaining screws, 8mm wrench

remove the flow meter
    • lift the air box slightly to dislodge it (there are 4 lugs in total)

    • unscrew the 3 flow meter retaining screws, 8mm wrench

    • remove the flow meter

  5. 
compare flow meters

I opted for second-hand but you can of course use a new part.

oil the flow meter O-ring

install the flow meter

screw in its 3 fixing screws, 8mm key
    • oil the flow meter O-ring

    • install the flow meter

put the air box back in place in its 4 lugs

install the air duct (clip the central part)

screw the 2 collars, 7mm key
    • put the air box back in place in its 4 lugs

    • install the air duct (clip the central part)

connect the flow meter plug (you should hear a "click")

put in place the top cover

turn on the ignition and clear the fault
    • connect the flow meter plug (you should hear a "click")

    • put in place the top cover

    • turn on the ignition and clear the fault
