Introduction

The operation must be carried out on both sides of the car

  1. 
Remove the hubcap

Use a 17mm socket to release the 4 wheel studs without removing them.

Lift the car using a jack
    • Remove the hubcap

    • Use a 17mm socket to release the 4 wheel studs without removing them.

    • Lift the car using a jack

    • Install the candles in the place provided for this purpose (reinforced rocker panel)

Unscrew the 4 wheel studs
    • Unscrew the 4 wheel studs

    • Remove the wheel

Unscrew the 2 brake column screws using a 13 socket.

Suspend the brake caliper, taking care not to damage the hose, using a wire on the suspension spring

Check the piston seal. Replace if necessary.
    • Unscrew the 2 brake column screws using a 13 socket.

    • Suspend the brake caliper, taking care not to damage the hose, using a wire on the suspension spring

    • Check the piston seal. Replace if necessary.

    • Push the piston back using a piston pusher.

Remove the front brake pad by pulling on the clips

Remove the rear brake pad by pulling on the clips

Use a flathead screwdriver if necessary to help pry the pads out.
    • Remove the front brake pad by pulling on the clips

    • Remove the rear brake pad by pulling on the clips

    • Use a flathead screwdriver if necessary to help pry the pads out.

Apply penetrating oil to the disc and hub.

Remove the 2 screws from the pad holder using a T55 Torx socket

Unscrew the 2 disk retaining screws
    • Apply penetrating oil to the disc and hub.

    • Remove the 2 screws from the pad holder using a T55 Torx socket

    • Unscrew the 2 disk retaining screws

    • The original screws have T30 Torx heads

    • Remove the disc with a hammer if necessary

Check that the 2 columns and the seals slide correctly. Replace or grease if necessary.

Clean the pad location using a wire brush

Clean the caliper retaining screws and the pad support retainer using a wire brush.
    • Clean the pad location using a wire brush

Fit the new disc. You can lightly grease the contact surface between the hub and the disc with copper grease.

Clean the surface of the new disc with brake cleaner to remove all traces of grease

Screw in the 2 disc retaining screws and tighten to 1 daN.m
    • Fit the new disc. You can lightly grease the contact surface between the hub and the disc with copper grease.

    • Clean the surface of the new disc with brake cleaner to remove all traces of grease

    • Screw in the 2 disc retaining screws and tighten to 1 daN.m

    • The new screws used have a cross-head

  9. 
Fit the brake pad support using a T55 Torx socket and tighten the 2 screws to 10.5 daN.m

Install the clips on the brake pads

Install the brake pads. Sand the ends of the pads if they are difficult to fit.
    • Fit the brake pad support using a T55 Torx socket and tighten the 2 screws to 10.5 daN.m

    • Install the clips on the brake pads

    • Install the brake pads. Sand the ends of the pads if they are difficult to fit.

Apply medium thread lock to the brake caliper screws.

Fit the caliper using the 2 screws on the columns and a 13 socket. Tighten to 3 daN.m

    • Apply medium thread lock to the brake caliper screws.

    • Fit the caliper using the 2 screws on the columns and a 13 socket. Tighten to 3 daN.m

  11. 
Put the wheel in place and screw in the 4 studs

Place the car back on its wheel using the jack

Tighten the 4 studs crosswise to 8.5 daN.m
    • Put the wheel in place and screw in the 4 studs

    • Place the car back on its wheel using the jack

    • Tighten the 4 studs crosswise to 8.5 daN.m

    • Replace the hubcap

    • At this stage, repeat the operation on the opposite wheel (replacement of brake pads and disc)

  12. 
Open the brake fluid reservoir

Check the brake fluid level. The level should be between max and min
    • Open the brake fluid reservoir

    • Check the brake fluid level. The level should be between max and min

    • Remove brake fluid using a syringe if the level is above the maximum level

    • Add DOT4 brake fluid if the level is below the minimum level

  13. 
Start the car and press the brake pedal several times until you feel a hard point. This will reattach the pistons to the pads.

    • Dispose of the pads, discs and screws at the recycling center

    • Annotate the maintenance log of the operation carried out
