Introduction

ATTENTION : Following the replacement of the water thermostat, you will need to bleed the coolant to remove the air.

This tutorial only covers replacing the thermostat

Operation to be carried out with the engine cold!

  1. 
In order to easily access the thermostat, I remove the air box as well as the intake hose.

Loosen the two clamps using a ratchet and a 7MM socket, then remove the intake hose

For the air box, you just need to pull it towards you to remove it from its support.

    • The thermostat is located at the end of the upper hose

The hose is held to the thermostat by a self-tightening clamp.

I use a vice grip to loosen the clamp and remove the hose.

Place a basin under the vehicle as the coolant will flow out.

The thermostat is held in by two hex screws, I use a ratchet, an extension and a 10MM socket to remove it

Compare the two coins

Install the new thermostat and tighten the two 10MM screws

put the hose until it stops against the thermostat

Replace the collar

Replace the air box in its location

reattach the intake hose with the two hose clamps (7mm socket)
