    • Raise the vehicle, secure the lift using a jack stand and complete the wheel removal

  2.
Unscrew the lock nut and the upper shock absorber mounting nut (Square light in the wheel arch, engine compartment side)

To open the lock nut more easily, lock the main nut with a flat wrench and loosen the lock nut

Unscrew the nut from the lower axle of the shock absorber and extract the lower axle by taking it out from the side of the stabilizer bar

    • For ease, unscrew the 2 fixing nuts of the stabilizer bar and remove the bar + axle assembly to release the shock absorber.

  3.
We compare the 2 shock absorbers (here the new one has a metal "dust cover" system)

We put the new shock absorber in place (Don't forget the silent blocks!) starting by screwing the nut + lock nut in the engine compartment

Position of the silent blocks: Shock absorber - Cup - Silent block - Arm support (Car chassis) - Cup - Silent block - Cup - nuts

    • Then put the lower axle back in place and tighten it (35 to 40Nm of tightening torque)

    • To facilitate the extraction/installation of the shock absorber, it is possible to raise/lower the suspension arm using a jack placed under the wheel spindle.

    • Reinstall the stabilizer bar (if removed)

    • Put the wheel back in place and tighten it.

    • Place the vehicle on the ground and check the tightness of the wheel.

    • The shock absorber change is done automatically on both sides
