Introduction

This tutorial explains step by step how to install the BRINK 608700 towbar on a Touran III.

Please note, this tutorial does not cover the installation of the beam.

    • Disassemble the lights:

    • Start by removing the plastic shutters in the trunk.

    • Unscrew the white nut by hand

    • Disconnect the connector by hand (a small screwdriver can be used to release the hook)

    • Unscrew the 10 Torx screws (T15 and T25) to release the bumper.

Hello. Thanks for the answer, that's nice. I'll give it a try in that case. I'll come back here if I struggle ;-). Have a nice day

Hello. Thanks for the great tutorial. On the other hand, is removing the 10 twists enough to unclip the bumper or do you then have to pull like crazy on the plastic mounting tabs that break every other time? I had the case on a Megane and I tell myself that German designs are surely more practical? Thank you very much.

Hello, For my part, no problem with disassembly or clip breakage. I was able to reassemble it without damaging anything. Kind regards,

  2. Unscrew the screws holding the side member using a 13 key (3 on the left + 4 on the right) Once the spar has been removed, put the screws back in place so as not to lose them (lock them without tightening too much)

  3. Roughly put the hitch in place by inserting the 2 arms into the 2 housings provided for this purpose. Put the 4 screws in place without tightening them using a 17 wrench. The screws at the bottom are threaded. Locknuts (15 wrench) hold the most accessible screws. Tighten the most accessible screws to 45 Nm and the deepest to 65 Nm, as indicated in the assembly instructions.

    • For vehicles equipped with Add-Blue, tightening the screws on the right is made difficult by the presence of the Add-Blue reservoir, see the next step to work around the problem.

  4. The Add-Blue tank hides access for tightening the right-hand screws of the hitch. It is necessary to move it slightly to have correct access Simply unscrew its 3 screws using a 13 key to free it and let it descend a few cm. There is no need to unplug it and put it down completely. Just rest it on a lower support.

    • Reassemble the bumper (as when disassembling)

    • Reassemble the lights (fixed by the plastic nut, the connector and the plastic shutter in the trunk)

    • Install the swan neck on the hitch:

    • Put in place the 2 screws and use 2 19 wrenches (or 1 19 wrench + 1 adjustable wrench) to tighten very tightly.
