Introduction
Changing the oil on a Renault Laguna 3 2.0 DCIis simple and fast here is my method.
Place your car on a flat surface, check the tightness of the handbrake.
-
-
To start buying un filtre à huile and of l'huile adaptée to your engine. The Laguna having a FAP you must take special FAP 5W30 oil
-
-
-
Open the hood
-
And unclip the engine cover
-
Open le bouchon du réservoir of oil
-
-
-
Remove the engine cover with une clé de 10
-
-
-
Unscrew the cap of the carter d'huile with a square key without removing it completely
-
Be careful not to drain with a hot engine: RISK OF BURNS
-
Place a container under the crankcase (minimum capacity 8 liters)
-
Remove the cap quickly to avoid getting too much oil on your hand.
-
-
-
Unscrew the oil filter holder with a 27 socket.
-
Placer un récipient below because oil will flow
-
Remove the filter from the holder as well as the O-ring located near the thread
-
-
-
Insert the new filter into its holder
-
Place the new seal in its housing
-
Screw the assembly back together, being careful not to overtighten as this part is made of plastic. The exact tightening torque is available in your vehicle maintenance manual
-
-
-
Replace the copper gasket of the bouchon de vidange
-
Once the oil has drained, screw the cap back on. Do not overtighten, when the copper seal is crushed it is good. Screw the assembly back on, be careful not to overtighten because this part is made of plastic. The exact tightening torque is available in your vehicle maintenance manual
-
-
-
Slowly pour the new oil into the reservoir using a clean, dry funnel.
-
The amount of oil with oil filter change required is 6.5 liters. Be careful to respect the quantity of oil indicated in your Renault maintenance booklet.
-
Replace the cap and check the level with the dipstick.
-
-
-
Check that there are no leaks at the filter and the cap.
-
Refit the engine cover
-
Replace the engine cover
-
Remember that used oil must be taken to the recycling center as well as the dirty container.
After about 100 kilometers, check your oil level.

And put the car back on level before checking the oil level. It goes without saying but it's better to say it...

Hello and thank you for these explanations.
What key is needed to remove the drain plug? Square or hex, 8, 10 or 12mm?
THANKS

Be careful, some engines need 6.6L, others 7.4L or even 8.2L
