Introduction

Description of all the steps for removing and reinstalling the window regulator mechanism:

- Removal of the interior door panel

- Removal of the exterior door panel

- Disconnecting the window lift motor (note that changing the motor at this level can be done without removing the exterior door panel.)

- Removing the window regulator

Resting the whole thing.

  1.
Start by unscrewing the 3 Torx screws located below the interior panel.

There is another screw located on the top left side when looking at the panel (only visible when wide open)

Then using a flat screwdriver, slide the cover in photo 2 towards you (you have to be daring).

    • Then using a flat screwdriver, slide the cover in photo 2 towards you (you have to be daring).

    • you now have access to the last two screws that hold the door panel, unscrew them.

    • Once done, the panel is only held by clips, all that remains is to unclip it, here too you have to dare, there is no need for tools, just small sharp blows to the four corners of the panel.

    • The panel is only held in place by 2 cables (the one for the speakers and the window lifter switch) which were carefully disconnected. As well as the cable for the door handle.

    • Start with the electrical cables, this will give you more scope to remove the one from the door handle. Then, remove the hook (picture 3) and the cable. The door panel is completely free here.

  2.
The first step to removing the exterior panel is to remove the exterior handle.

To do this, take a thin bit holder and the Torx 115 bit and gradually unscrew the screw from the orange tag.

At the same time as you unscrew, pull on the barrel (yellow marker) until it comes out completely.

    • Then disconnect the cable with a small flat screwdriver by passing it under the clip.

  3.
The second part is to remove the door panel itself.

Unscrew with the 127++ torx bit (be careful, these screws are very tight, and you might think that with a 125 bit it could work, but you risk tearing one out of two).

There is also a series (5) below the door. Red beacon

    • The panel is now ready to be removed. It is still held by a mechanism at the door handle and rests on the door structure. This is the slightly tricky part of the operation.

    • To remove it correctly without damaging the mechanism, it is easier to be two (especially to reassemble it). It is easier to work with the door almost closed.

    • Pull the panel slightly towards you to take it in your hands. Here, it will "fall" because it no longer rests on the door structure. But it remains attached by the mechanism of the exterior handle (blue marker)

    • Then, while remaining against the door, you must move the panel towards the front of the vehicle to unclip it from its attachment system (blue marker)

    • For reinstallation, working in pairs is much easier because the panel is quite heavy in the long run if you cannot replace it.

  4.
Now we have access to the window regulator.

Start by dismantling the motor (be careful, depending on the type of breakage of the old window regulator, the window may fall, put it in a safe place)
    • Now we have access to the window regulator.

    • Start by dismantling the motor (be careful, depending on the type of breakage of the old window regulator, the window may fall, put it in a safe place)

    • Disconnect the connectors (red square tag)

    • Then unscrew the 3 screws (red round marker) and pull the motor towards you.

    • Remove the window, there are two screws (orange round marker) to unscrew on the mechanism then you can take the window.

    • To remove it without any problem, tilt the front down and it will come out without any problem. (do the opposite to put it back up, there is no need to force it). (red arrow)

  5.
Once the glass is removed

Remove the old window regulator, 5 screws (orange marker) there are 2 at the marker at the bottom left.

Check that the two window regulators are identical. Remove the small Colson which blocks the mechanism of the new window regulator.

    • Check that the two window regulators are identical. Remove the small Colson which blocks the mechanism of the new window regulator.

    • Replace the new window regulator with the 5 screws (still orange marker).

    • Replace the window by doing the opposite movement. That is to say by placing the back of the window first (yellow marker) then tilting the front of the window (red marker) upwards

    • Once the glass is correctly placed in the door groove, lower it to the glass support of the window regulator mechanism (green marker)

    • Then adjust the screws (green tag)

  6.
Reinstall the window lift mechanism motor and tighten the three screws (red marker)
    • Reinstall the window lift mechanism motor and tighten the three screws (red marker)

    • Reconnect the connectors

    • You can test the mechanism here.

    • Then reassemble the exterior door panel by following the steps in reverse order of removal. The most difficult part is reinserting the exterior handle.

    • As a reminder; for repositioning the exterior door panel; Place the door against (in the almost closed position). Clip the handle mechanism from the front to the rear of the vehicle

Hello, I successfully carried out this operation in 1 hour with 2 people by removing only the exterior handle and exterior panel then door reinforcement and slide motor.

no need to disassemble the inner panel

It helped me a lot anyway

except for the handle disassembled fat to this different schema at the level of the barrel fixing screw which is not necessary to remove in full

Good morning,

It is not necessary to disassemble the inner door panel or the motor.

All you have to do is remove the outer panel and replace the mechanism.

3 hours, I find that a bit excessive, I had to do it in 1 hour, maximum 1h30. The most annoying thing is to understand how to remove and replace the handle and lock (or cover depending on the door).

Good morning,

Thank you for this tutorial which also made my task easier but how do I re-configure the automatic window function? Moreover, I see that it goes down to the end when normally it should stop a little before.

Sincerely

for the anti-pinch mechanism, raise the window to the top manually, once it reaches the stop at the top of the door jamb, hold down the window switch button in the up position for 8 seconds, then lower it little by little using the window switch composition desendres by making small taps until it reaches the stop and then hold it down for 8 seconds.

Arnaud Chauvineau -

Thank you for this very precise, very clear, well-illustrated “tutorial” which made my task considerably easier.
