Introduction

Vehicle engine 1.4 HDi 70 hp

  1. Raise and chock the front of the vehicle. Remove the wheel on the side concerned. Securing the vehicle: removing and refitting the wheel
  2. Remove the lower ball joint clamp bolt using a 16mm wrench. Remove the screw. Disconnect the lower ball joint from the pivot using a ball joint extractor or by lowering the wishbone using a pry bar.
    • Remove the lower ball joint clamp bolt using a 16mm wrench.

    • Remove the screw.

    • Disconnect the lower ball joint from the pivot using a ball joint extractor or by lowering the wishbone using a pry bar.

    • Be careful not to disengage the transmission from the differential. If necessary, attach the pivot-transmission assembly to the cradle.

  3. Unscrew the three ball joint fixings on the suspension triangle. Using a T40 Torx key and a 16mm wrench. Remove the ball joint and recover its protection.
    • Unscrew the three ball joint fixings on the suspension triangle.

    • Using a T40 Torx key and a 16mm wrench.

    • Remove the ball joint and recover its protection.

  4. Compare suspension ball joints. Place the three screws on the triangle to guide the replacement of the ball joint. Place the ball joint on the triangle and the pivot without forgetting the protection. Tighten the 3 nuts.
    • Compare suspension ball joints.

    • Place the three screws on the triangle to guide the replacement of the ball joint.

    • Place the ball joint on the triangle and the pivot without forgetting the protection. Tighten the 3 nuts.

  5. Replace the clamping bolt.
    • Replace the clamping bolt.

    • Check that the protection is correctly positioned and does not touch the disc.

This is a heat shield between the disc and the ball joint boot, not having it is not serious in itself, especially if your discs are ventilated.

Hello, the ball joint is originally set on the triangle. Please specify that it is necessary to drill to remove the rivets, always replace the clamping screw on the pivot.
