Hello, I have a Citroen Saxo 1.0 petrol 50 hp

I would like to know where the 3rd starter screw is located because I managed to remove the first 2 but I can't see the 3rd one. If someone could guide me, I'm not a mechanic but I'm trying to learn, thanks everyone.

From memory, I did everything with a ratchet, as seen in the first photo.

What plastic cover are you talking about? Because I don't see one in the photo.

Are you talking about the air box? Which is removed in step 1?

I don't understand how to unscrew "Screw 1". I have a 13mm open-end wrench and it won't fit (plastic cover in the way). Do I need a 13mm socket wrench? Screws 2 and 3 came out without any problems.

Good morning ,

And there you have it! my starter had been showing some signs of weakness for a good month, I found a second-hand one (€40) and I was LUCKY enough to come across your tutorial which I followed step by step. Excellent work on your part. Thank you

I just did it on a Saxo Phase 2 1.5D. The air box only has one inlet/outlet (even easier to remove). I took the starter out from above, because the air box support arm is fixed over the starter (plus I couldn't see how to take it out from below in my case). The two power cables are held together, no way to make a mistake, just in case I put blue electrical tape on the control cable. Screw 1 (the one in the opposite direction) is difficult to access, impossible to remove with a 13 flat wrench or ratchet. I had to take a 13 socket wrench to access it. Bring a flashlight to find the fixing screws, and it took me almost two hours. Technical inspection successfully passed this morning! Thank you very much.

Good morning,

I have just changed the starter motor on my 2000 Saxo 1.5d, which I bought new as a standard exchange.

After the operation the key light flashes and it does not start the battery and starts correctly.

This can prevent anything thanks.

Good evening Kadir, what was your problem? I have the same problem.

I don't think there is a centering device for this starter. From memory, there is no difficulty in centering it in the correct position, perhaps due to the internal shape of the starter.

Good morning,

you have to take it out from the bottom.
