Changing the stabilizer bar links on a Renault Clio 4

To be able to remove your wheel:

- Use une croix or look in your trunk by removing the carpet, you will find a key there intended to loosen your 4 nuts, without removing them completely.

- Use un cric to raise the front of your vehicle.

Remember to secure your vehicle by using des chandelles or others.

You can completely remove your nuts and then remove the wheel.

Now you can see the stabilizer bar link.

You can completely remove the 2 nuts that hold the stabilizer bar link using a 16 flat wrench and a screwdriver with a BTR 30 bit.

The flat wrench will be used to unscrew the nuts while the screwdriver with the BTR 30 bit will be used to hold the screw thread in an anti-clockwise direction so that it does not turn in a vacuum.

Remember to apply some penetrating oil to make it easier to unscrew the nuts and remove the connecting rod in the future.

Both nuts are completely removed

You can now remove the stabilizer bar link from its housing by pulling on it.

Use a long rod to leverage the stabilizer bar to make it easier to remove the rod and therefore have better access to remove it.

You will now compare the old, as well as the new stabilizer bar link (dimensions etc...)

Now you can put the new connecting rod in the correct direction in its housing, using the long rod to press on the stabilizer bar to make the task easier.

You can screw the 2 nuts that hold it using the 16 flat wrench and locking the screw thread using the screwdriver with the BTR 30 bit.

The task is now complete, you can safely put your wheel back on.

It is advisable to change the stabilizer bar links on each side.
