Introduction
My Mercedes B-Class has poor road handling, so I'm going to change the stabilizer bar links.
Parts
-
-
Lift the car.
-
Remove the wheel.
-
Place the car on a block or stand.
-
The link is attached at the top to the strut and at the bottom to the stabilizer bar.
-
-
-
Unscrew the nut using the 16 flat wrench while holding the threaded rod using the 30 torx wrench. (here it is the fixing at the bottom)
-
I can now remove the threaded rod from the stabilizer bar link.
-
-
-
The threaded rod has a 30 torx drive.
-
You must therefore use a 30 torx key to hold the threaded rod.
-
-
-
It is necessary to check if the new part is identical to the old part. (The new one is on the left.)
-
-
-
You must use a 17 flat wrench to tighten the nut and a 5 Allen key to hold the threaded rod.
-
Here is the attachment at the bottom on the stabilizer bar.
-
-
-
We do the same at the top at the level of the strut.
-
-
-
It's finished, the connecting rod is installed.
-
You have to do the same thing on the other side! (The connecting rods are changed in pairs.)
-
My car handles better and the steering is stiffer.
