Introduction
This tutorial is made on a Clio 3 petrol 1.2 16v
Hello, I will show you how I replaced the spark plugs on a Clio 3 petrol.
First, remove the air box to gain access to the engine and spark plugs.
Parts
Video Overview
-
-
Disconnect the first hose on the top by just pulling gently on it, it comes off by itself
-
and the second hose on the side by unclipping it
-
-
-
pinch the air inlet pipe with your fingers then pull to unclip it
-
-
-
put a piece of paper towel or a rag to prevent things from getting into the engine
-
-
-
you can start with the one you want there is no order
-
pull towards you, being careful not to pull on the cables in the harness
-
-
-
be careful not to drop any dirt into the spark plug wells
-
-
-
unscrew counterclockwise (the screw thread is quite long) and remove the spark plug
-
-
-
put the new spark plug in the spark plug wrench then lower it into the well, tighten it by hand at the beginning and finish tightening with the T-handle
-
Replace the coil by pressing firmly on it
-
-
-
check that the harness is properly seated and that all the coils are properly replaced
-
remove the rag from the intake (it would be a shame to reassemble the air box once everything is reassembled)
-
-
-
put the air box back in place
-
reclip the box onto the engine and check that it does not move
-
put the top hose back in place
-
-
-
Replace the air inlet hose by pushing it into its housing
-
screw the intake collar between the engine and the gearbox
-
clip the hose onto the side of the air box
-
-
-
That's it, it's over!
-
you just changed your spark plugs
-
Check your manual to see when to clean the spark plugs and when to replace them next.

Great tutorial, I managed to replace my spark plugs very easily thanks to the explanations. It's very clear, no more details needed. Thanks to the author!

For my part, this tutorial is very well done and gave me the necessary information to carry out this operation on my vehicle. Very sufficient to estimate the time required and the associated constraints.
Thanks to the author.

This tutorial seriously lacks detail (precise references: diameter, length, etc.) regarding the tools to use to change the spark plugs. As it stands, this tutorial is not usable. It absolutely must be completed.

I made a similar tutorial on clio 2 1.2 16v. To change the spark plugs, you need a thin 12-sided socket in 14, tightening to the torque preferably (23N.m).
