Introduction

The operation consists of accessing the columns, removing the old ones, and refitting the new ones with suitable grease (provided in the kit), new bellows, new bolts and finally new screws coated with thread lock.

Tools: 13 mm flat or socket wrench, 17 mm flat wrench.

Work safely! Use jack stands and a chock for the opposite wheel.

There are 2 columns per stirrup. One upper and one lower.

The 13 key is placed at the end of the column

The 17 key is used to act on the lock nut.

Use the supplied grease to prepare the new socket.

Clean the housing with a cloth.

Change the bellows.

go back in reverse.

Recommended tightening: 5.0 m.kg (source RTA Alfa Romeo 147)

For the front brake columns: 4.8 to 5.2 m.kg

Tightening the wheel bolts to torque: 7.7 to 9.5 m.kg

When changing the pads I noticed that the caliper was no longer moving and so I tried to free the columns without success.
