Introduction
Although you have to get under the car (if it doesn't have a lift or pit), this operation is inexpensive if you do it yourself.
-
-
Raise the front using a rolling jack, place 1 jack stand on each side (the work can be done by lifting only 1 side)
-
-
-
To make working easier; wedge the catalytic converter, the exhaust pipe and the exhaust pipe
-
-
-
Using a 13mm socket wrench: Unscrew the clamp connecting the tube to the catalytic converter (towards the front)
-
Then unscrew the clamp connecting the tube to the exhaust pipe (towards the rear)
-
-
-
Pull the pot forward to remove it from the silentblocs (elastic shock absorber)
-
-
-
The standard tube is designed to fit different types of pots. It will be advisable to cut it to length based on the length of the old pot
-
-
-
Fit the new tube with the nuts facing upwards. Otherwise the screws may catch the ground on the wrong paths.
-
Engage the rear support in the silentbloc.
-
-
-
Insert the exhaust pipe mounting rods into the 2 rear silentblocs
-
Finish tightening the clamp connecting the pipe to the exhaust. You're done!
