Photo 1: after switching on the headlights in position 2, we observe that the dipped beam headlight on the driver's side no longer works.
-
Photo 2: we open the hood, and we see the rubber sealing cover at the rear of the headlight lens (orange arrow).
-
Photo 3: In order to improve access to this area (yellow circle), the battery will need to be removed.
-
-
-
Before working on the battery, check that you have the car radio unlock code.
-
Photo 1: we start by removing the red cover from the + terminal, pulling on it gently (red rectangle).
-
Photo 2: remove the battery terminals by unscrewing the 2 nuts (orange arrows) using a 10 mm flat spanner. The battery can then be removed from its housing.
-
Photo 3: The battery housing, with the battery removed.
-
-
-
Photo 1: Once the battery is removed, the sealing cap can be removed by gently pulling on it (red arrow).
-
Photo 2: the rubber cover, to be kept.
-
Photo 3: we access the power supply base of the bulb, which we unscrew (yellow arrows) to remove it from its housing.
-
-
-
Photo 1: the power supply base has been removed from its housing, the bulb is clipped onto it.
-
Photo 2: comparing the two bulbs. On the left is the old one with a broken filament, and on the right is the new one with an intact filament (orange arrows).
-
-
-
Photo 1: clip the new bulb into the base, respecting the position of the base lug in the notch of the lamp (red circle). The two fins (red arrows) will fix the base in the optic by rotating it a quarter turn clockwise.
-
Photo 2: Once the base is fixed in the optic, the rubber sealing cap (orange circle) is replaced.
-
-
-
Photo 1: replace the battery and tighten the terminals on the + and - terminals using the 10 mm flat wrench.
-
Photo 2: Turn on the ignition and switch the headlights to position 2 (dipped beam). Everything works again.
-
The bulb replacement is complete. All that remains is to unlock the car radio with the code you have. Have a good trip!

And how do you do the right side? It's a pain, thanks Renault engineers.

Good evening,
Removing the bulb by hand as shown…. It’s impossible!!!

Above all, do not take into account the comments saying that you can pass your hand without removing the battery, or go through the wheel arch. These are big mistakes that can take a lot of time and cause irritation. Once it is removed, you have easy access, knowing that the safest thing is to reclip the socket into the headlight. It took me 15 minutes, including resetting the time and entering the car radio code.
