Introduction
It's not very complicated on this model despite the rear mid-engine.
Parts
-
-
Loosen the wheel nuts
-
Raise the car using the jack at the location of the pad provided for this purpose.
-
Finish unscrewing the wheel nuts and remove the wheel
-
Place a candle to support the rear cradle
-
-
-
Once the car is lifted, the coils are directly accessible
-
Before unscrewing the coil screws it is best to disconnect the coil wire first (terminal circled in red)
-
Once disconnected, the coils are held by 2 5mm BTR screws (blue arrow), unscrew them.
-
Extract the coil by pulling on it (without difficulty)
-
-
-
Insert the spark plug wrench (16mm) into the coil location. You can add 1 or 2 extensions for more ease
-
Unscrew the spark plug, normally these are only slightly tightened.
-
-
-
Check that the spark plugs match well, especially in terms of base length (in red)
-
Replace the new spark plug and tighten it to 30NM + 3NM using the wrench provided for this purpose.
-
Then replace the coil and tighten the 2 5mm BTR screws to 10NM.
-
Reclip the cable onto the reel
-
Congratulations, you have just performed the operation for 1 of the 6 spark plugs. However, the operation is strictly the same for the other cylinders
-
Operation can be carried out with a few tools. The operation remains relatively long given the 6 spark plugs to be changed even if the procedure remains identical for the 6 cylinders.
