Introduction

You will learn how to easily change the spark plugs on your 207 1.6 e 16V 110 hp .

Before starting this tutorial, please obtain a 16 mm socket wrench or spark plug socket (with a rubber tip that holds the spark plug) as well as a T20 Torx screwdriver or bit.

  1.
Remove the 6 Torx T20 screws (orange arrows) from the small black engine protection cover.

Once removed, the hood pulls upwards.

  2.
Disconnect the 2 oil hoses (in red) via their respective connectors by squeezing the part of the connector that pushes in and pulling the connector in the opposite direction of the block: for the upper connector pull downwards, for the lower one, pull upwards.

Unscrew the 4 Torx screws from the ignition coil (in green)

Disconnect the electrical connector (gray) from the coil by squeezing the metal ring and pulling down on the connector.

    • To remove the coil: pull it upwards to extract it (it is simply fitted onto the spark plugs).

  3.
Visualize the 4 spark plug wells. Check their status before making a change.

Unscrew the spark plugs one by one with a 16mm spark plug wrench. Maintain pressure on the wrench to keep it horizontal so as not to damage the spark plug thread when loosening it.

Compare the old spark plug with the new one (old red arrow, new blue) to verify that they are the same height and diameter.

Screw the spark plugs back in.
    • Screw the spark plugs back in.

    • Hold the tool straight so as not to force the screw thread.

    • Then: reposition the coil and re-tighten the 6 screws that position and hold it, reconnect the gray connector of the coil as well as the 2 oil hose connectors then replace the hood cover (also 6 Torx screws).

Conclusion

Change to be carried out every 60,000 km.
