    • With a gear engaged and using a jack, place the rear on a stand,

  2.
Using a pair of pliers, remove the bearing protectors

Remove the pin, nut retainer, nut, washer and tapered bearing

Remove the drum, using a flat screwdriver if it gets stuck a little.

    • Do this on both sides

  3.
Using fine pliers, unhook the handbrake cable

using a pair of multi-grip pliers and a flathead screwdriver, remove the trim fasteners by pushing the washer with the pliers to compress the spring and turning it 1/4 turn to uncouple the washer from the pin

Ideally using a pipe wrench, disconnect the brake line from the cylinder behind the drum and then remove the cylinder secured by two bolts.

Secure the new cylinder and tighten the brake line

    • Secure the new cylinder and tighten the brake line

    • use the grease provided and apply it to the 6 support points of the linings in the drum

    • Place the trim in position by inserting the bottom first, being careful not to damage the rubber of the cylinders. (in red)

    • Once in position, insert the new pins, springs and cups and lock them using multi-grip pliers and a flat screwdriver. (There are dedicated tools if needed) (in blue)

    • Reposition the handbrake cable (in green)

you need to start the automatic catch-up system, to do this: insert 2 flat screwdrivers on each side of the cylinder up to the hub fixing screws to spread the linings and move the mechanism a few notches.

put the drum in position, if it turns without any friction, repeat the previous operation until the drum requires very slight resistance to be put in position, this is the correct adjustment

    • You can now put the tapered bearing, washer, nut (firm hand tightening only), locknut and pin back into position. Put some grease back into the protective cover and reinsert it with a mallet

    • once this is done on both wheels you should have a good handbrake adjustment

    • The simplest is to use an automatic bleeder such as "Eezibleed". Manual bleeding requires two people and can easily lead to damage to the master cylinder if not properly controlled.

    • Once the brake fluid reservoir has been emptied with a syringe and refilled, with the bleeder installed, bleed in order: right rear wheel, left rear wheel, right front wheel, left front wheel.

    • at each wheel, a transparent pipe inserted on the bleeder, loosen the bleeder and tighten it once the new fluid is visible and free of any bubbles, tighten the bleeder.

    • Do this on each wheel and check the fluid level in the reservoir
