-
Please ensure that the handbrake is properly engaged before starting any operation.
-
-
-
Turn the steering wheel to tilt the disc and caliper assembly outwards and thus facilitate the rest of the operations
-
Insert a flathead screwdriver into the disc and lever in the direction shown to push the piston back
-
Tighten the nuts using a 17 mm flat wrench.
-
Using the ratchet and the 13 socket, loosen and remove the screws
-
Carefully remove and install the caliper, taking care not to put stress on the brake hose.
-
-
-
Remove the brake pads by sliding them in the direction shown.
-
Since the front pads are all identical on this vehicle, you do not need to remember the mounting direction.
-
-
-
-
Using the ratchet and the torx 40 socket, loosen and remove the 2 disc retaining screws.
-
You can engage a gear to lock the disc and make this operation easier.
-
Tap with a hammer from the inside out if the disc is difficult to come out.
-
-
-
Compare the diameter, thickness of the discs and the number of holes
-
Compare old and new pads
-
Clean the internal and external contact surface of the discs with brake cleaner to remove the film of grease present there (unless they are painted discs)
-
-
-
Fit the new disc and, still using a ratchet and the 40 torx socket, tighten the 2 disc retaining screws (use new screws if supplied)
-
Reinstall the caliper bracket (see step 4) and using a ratchet and the 18 socket, tighten the 2 caliper bracket screws.
-
-
-
Push the piston back as far as it will go to allow the caliper to be reinstalled.
-
Open the brake fluid reservoir cap and turn on the ignition to facilitate the piston push back.
-
Reinstall the caliper using step 2 (use new screws if supplied)
-
-
-
Pump the brake pedal until it becomes stiff.
-
Drive smoothly and avoid emergency braking while the pads and discs are running in (around 200 km)
