Introduction

Changing the spark plugs on a Suzuki Swift 1.3 petrol

  1. 
Open the hood and secure it with the lever.

Disconnect the 10mm key battery

Open the air box and remove the filter.

    • There are two steel levers to switch

remove the 4 screws from the air box with a 10mm socket + 1 screw on the air inlet

undo the clips using a flat screwdriver

Remove the entire air box and unscrew the 4 screws from the plastic cover with an 8mm socket.
    • Remove the entire air box and unscrew the 4 screws from the plastic cover with an 8mm socket.

Disconnect the plugs from both ignition coils, and undo the 4 screws with a 10mm socket. Remove the coils and spark plug wires

Remove the spark plugs using a 16 mm spark plug socket and an extension. If necessary, use a spark plug wire to extract it from its well.

Check the gap at the electrode using a set of shims.

Refit the spark plugs and tighten them either to a torque of 25Nm or by hand then with a wrench 1/4 to 1/2 turn maximum

Reassembly is done in reverse order: reassemble the coils 4 screws + 2 connectors

    • the plastic cover 4 screws

    • the air box 4 screws plus the white clips

    • air inlet 1 screw

    • the air filter and close the box with the 2 hooks

    • reconnect the battery

Great tutorial! But in reality my socket does not fit in the conduits despite the acquisition of an ultra fine 16 socket! So off to the garage! Sniff
