Replacing rear discs and pads on Seat Leon III (5F)

  1. Place the vehicle on level ground, place a safety chock at the front, then raise the rear using a jack and place a chock or a jack stand. To remove the brake caliper, remove the two screws marked with arrows. Tighten the lock nut with one wrench then loosen the bolt with another.

  2. Remove the caliper by "leveraging" it with a large screwdriver. Remove the disc retaining screw using a Torx bit Once the disc is removed, compare the dimensions with the new one.

  3. Once the new disc is in place, replace the retaining screw supplied with the disc. Remove the pads from the caliper, and compare them with the new ones. Put the new pads in place.
    • Once the new disc is in place, replace the retaining screw supplied with the disc.

    • Remove the pads from the caliper, and compare them with the new ones.

    • Put the new pads in place.

  4. Push the caliper track back using a "piston pusher" Once the caliper is back in place, replace the fixing screws supplied with the pads. You're done! You can put the wheel back up and lower your vehicle back down and move on to the other wheel!

    • Once the operation is finished, press your brake pedal to put the piston back in place.
