Replacing the exhaust muffler
At the rear under the vehicle, access the clamp screw between the silencer and the exhaust pipes, loosen the nut using a 16 flat wrench. (if necessary for better access use a jack and a candle)
Using a hammer and chisel, spread the collar rings apart
to keep the collar apart and make it easier to handle, use an 8 screw with 2 nuts and a 13 flat wrench,
then slide the clamp onto the exhaust line
Remove the silencer with the 2 silent blocks from the 2 mounting brackets
Compare the removed silencer with the new one
Recover the silent blocks from the old silencer (in certain cases if the 2 silent blocks are too damaged or cracked, replace them)
Reassemble the new silencer with the silent blocks on the 2 mounting brackets
Put the collar back in place, remove the 8 screw with 2 nuts used to hold the collar open then reconnect the collar with its screw then tighten
