Introduction
Replacing the windscreen washer pump on Clio Campus 1.2 16V
Tools
Parts
-
-
Open the hood and look at the driver's side.
-
Start by removing the rubber seal by gently pulling it upwards. (see red arrows)
-
Also remove the foam stop by sliding it to the left. (See orange arrow)
-
Once the rubber seal and the stop are removed, we find ourselves in the situation shown in photo 2.
-
-
-
Using a flathead screwdriver, carefully lift the clip circled in red. This clip secures the plastic grille to the bodywork.
-
To avoid damaging the clip, only lift the central part, which slides into the more peripheral part, as shown in photo 2
-
-
-
Start by removing the round cap that covers the wiper mounting nut.
-
Access is given to the wiper arm mounting nut (see photo 2).
-
Unscrew the wiper arm fixing nut with a 13 socket wrench. (see photo 3)
-
-
-
The awning grille can now be removed, as it is no longer held by the clip or the wiper arm. Pull gently upwards.
-
-
-
Directly under the awning grid you can access la pompe de lave-glace.
-
Start by disconnecting the electrical connector by unclipping it and pulling it upwards. (see photo 2, orange arrow)
-
Then disconnect the two windshield washer hoses by pulling on them. (see green arrows)
-
The windshield washer pump is then free and is removed by pulling on it. Check carefully that the new pump corresponds to the removed part. Photo 3: at the top the new pump, at the bottom the old one
-
-
-
Start by connecting the washer hoses to the new pump. (see green arrows).
-
Reconnect the electrical switch (see orange arrow).
-
Then replace the pump in its housing. (See photo 2).
-
Make sure the washer reservoir is full and then test the new pump for proper operation.
-
Then replace the awning grille and replace the clip and the wiper arm, tighten the wiper fixing nut as described in the previous steps.

Thank you for this very detailed tutorial. I was able to repair the windshield washer pump on my Clio. With my small hands I did not need to disassemble the windshield wiper (the point that scared me the most).
