Introduction

This tutorial will show you how to easily change your steering bellows.

It is important to change them if they are damaged in order to prevent any foreign body from damaging the rack.

  1. 
Start by lifting the car and removing the wheel by referring to the following tutorial: Pré-requis : Mise en sécurité du véhicule
  2. 
Using a 15 wrench, loosen the steering ball joint nut.

If the ball joint does not come out, put the nut back on the thread and tap it with a hammer (otherwise use a ball joint puller).

Never tap directly on the thread of the ball joint.

Remove the two bellows retaining clips.

Once both collars are removed, pull the bellows towards you.

Take it out of the outer ring.

You can then remove it by sliding it onto the ball joint.

Before installing the new bellows, compare its dimensions with the old one (length, diameters).

Take the opportunity to clean and grease the inner ball joint.

Slide the new bellows in.

Reposition the ball joint on the hub and tighten its nut (approximately 40 Nm).
