Introduction
This tutorial shows the change of a stabilizer bar silentbloc, on Renault trafic 2 phase 2
-
-
Raise the vehicle and secure it
-
To change a part on the stabilizer bar, it is advisable to lift the 2 front wheels of the vehicle, this has the effect of reducing the stress on it and thus facilitates disassembly.
-
Remove the wheel, from the side where the silentbloc is damaged
-
-
-
Locate the stabilizer bar silentbloc (red circle)
-
It is covered with a steel frame to hold it in place
-
It is recommended to apply penetrating oil and let it act on the retaining nuts (the 2 red arrows)
-
-
-
Remove the 2 silentbloc cage fasteners
-
There is little space, but a well-placed ratchet or articulated arm and a universal joint socket make disassembly easy.
-
Once the cage is free, simply remove the silentbloc by its split part.
-
-
-
The trick is to use a large screwdriver or similar to leverage the silentbloc and roll it over itself to direct the slot downwards, making it easier to remove the silentbloc.
-
-
-
Compare the old and new silentbloc
-
We can see the slot through which the silentbloc comes out.
-
-
-
Installation of the new silentbloc
-
Install the silentbloc cage
-
Tighten the fixing bolts to the prescribed torque.
-
You can use the same method as for disassembly, for reassembly
-
This operation is relatively easy, the difficulty lies only in the fact that there is little room to loosen the silentbloc fixing bolts.

Hello, should the orientation of the rubber be with its opening slot towards the front of the vehicle or should it be oriented towards the rear?

The cage closing the silentbloc on itself I think that this has little importance, in doubt I would put the same position as the old one all the same.
