Introduction

Vehicle engine 1.6 HDi FAP 16V 110 hp

  1. Raise and chock the rear of the vehicle. Remove the rear wheels. Securing the vehicle: removing and refitting the wheel Release the handbrake lever.

  6. Clean the pad supports with a wire brush. Install the new brake pads.

  7. Replace the brake caliper on its support. Tighten the brake caliper screws. Replace the handbrake cable.

Good morning,

Good tutorial but you still need to know how to use a piston pusher. For my part, I used this ONE TOOLS ref - 1T00100 and it is less obvious than it seems! The right piston pushes back by turning in one direction and the left in the other... In fact this is the most delicate part of the operation and would deserve to be much more detailed.

Clear and well illustrated tutorial. Maybe just mention that there are 2 types of braking system, bosch or TRW. Here is presented the TRW assembly.

What are the tightening torques for the caliper screws? What is the "metal butterfly" on the pads for?

Hello, the tightening torque of the caliper screws is 30 Nm

The butterfly acts like a spring to hold the pad properly in the caliper.
