Introduction

Here we will see how to change the ODB bulbs when the screen starts to go black.

  1. 
The middle of the screen is blacked out.

Remove the cap by pulling it forward.

Put the cap aside.

    • Pay attention to the hazard warning light cables.

  2. 
Remove the 2 torx screws.

Pull the display towards you.

Be careful with the ODB cables, don't pull too hard.
    • Remove the 2 torx screws.

    • Pull the display towards you.

    • Be careful with the ODB cables, don't pull too hard.

    • Remove the display cable from the odb. Press where the red arrow is

    • slide the safety framed in blue.

    • Disconnect the cable completely and then remove the display.

  3. 
Remove the display.

Here are the 3 bulbs to change.

Remove the bulb holders using pliers turning a quarter turn.
    • Remove the display.

    • Here are the 3 bulbs to change.

    • Remove the bulb holders using pliers turning a quarter turn.

Here are the 3 bulb holders.

Remove the bulb by pulling on it.

Check the new bulb (circled in green) against the old one.
    • Here are the 3 bulb holders.

    • Remove the bulb by pulling on it.

    • Check the new bulb (circled in green) against the old one.

    • Insert it into its support by pushing it.

  5. 
Replace the 3 bulb holders on the display, tightening them a quarter turn.

Reconnect the display to the vehicle.

Check that everything works before replacing the 2 torx screws.
    • Replace the 3 bulb holders on the display, tightening them a quarter turn.

    • Reconnect the display to the vehicle.

    • Check that everything works before replacing the 2 torx screws.

    • Replace the 2 torx screws and the cap.

Good morning,

Where is the ODB backlight fuse on 206 HDI 90CV please?

Because I changed the bulbs which were actually blown but it still doesn't work and I don't see anything at the fuse level.

Unless something else is involved.

Thank you for this tutorial because I thought since purchasing the vehicle that the problem was electronic and that the only way to solve this problem required a new unit.
