  2. To begin this tutorial, open your hood using the hatch below your steering wheel. Remove the cover above your engine. Locate the 4 glow plugs located below the injectors.

    • You will see that there is a black cover on it which serves as a power supply, to be able to remove it use long-nose pliers with if possible a cloth on it so as not to damage the spark plug covers.

    • Don't hesitate to gently force them as they can be difficult to remove.

  3. Once the black cover is removed you can locate the glow plug. Blow it over and around the engine to remove any dirt around it.

  4. To remove the glow plugs, use a long ratchet extension with a 10 socket. Unscrew and remove the old spark plugs, check that they are identical and have the same screw thread. In blue: New glow plug

  5. Once you have carried out the checks, I advise you to put WD40 or other on the screw thread to make the next disassembly easier. Tighten your glow plugs gently, the tightening torque is available in your vehicle's maintenance booklet

  6. Now you will simply need to reconnect the black cover which serves as a power supply to your glow plugs. It is recommended to replace all 4 spark plugs at the same time, once they are all properly seated check by starting the engine and letting it run for a few minutes. Replace your plastic engine cover.

Good morning

Be careful on mine it wasn't so simple it seems. There is a spark plug with pressure sensor on some models apparently so this tutorial doesn't fit all Golf 7s. Besides it still hasn't been changed!
