Introduction

Vehicle engine 1.4 HDi 70 hp

  1. 
Remove the engine cover

Remove the air filter cover mounting screws using a T20 torx screwdriver.

Remove the cover
    • Remove the engine cover

    • Remove the air filter cover mounting screws using a T20 torx screwdriver.

    • Remove the cover

Unscrew the 2 T20 screws from the air box

On the box is the air mass flow meter

Use a T20 torx key to remove the 2 retaining screws
    • Unscrew the 2 T20 screws from the air box

    • On the box is the air mass flow meter

    • Use a T20 torx key to remove the 2 retaining screws

    • Disconnect the electrical connector from the air mass meter

    • Unscrew the air line fastener

Remove the air line

Disconnect the intake air pressure sensor located under the windshield bay

Use a 10mm wrench
    • Remove the air line

    • Disconnect the intake air pressure sensor located under the windshield bay

    • Use a 10mm wrench

    • Temporarily remove the oil filler cap to facilitate removal of the air box.

The second half of the air line is connected to the back of the air box. Reach behind the fuel filter to unplug it.

Carefully remove the air box from its location.

The 4 glow plugs are located at the rear of the engine block, under the intake air manifold

The candles are connected by a harness of 4 snap-on connections

Disconnect the connectors carefully

The spark plug is screwed into the engine block

It is essential to use a long 8 mm socket to unscrew the spark plug.

Take the candle out of the well

Compare candles

Insert the new spark plug into its location
    • Take the candle out of the well

    • Compare candles

    • Insert the new spark plug into its location

Tighten the spark plug by hand until contact is made.

Then tighten to the torque with a torque wrench

Repeat the removal/reinstallation operation for the other three glow plugs.
    • Tighten the spark plug by hand until contact is made.

    • Then tighten to the torque with a torque wrench

    • Repeat the removal/reinstallation operation for the other three glow plugs.

Connect the electrical harness to the 4 spark plugs

Press until the connection "clicks"
    • Connect the electrical harness to the 4 spark plugs

    • Press until the connection "clicks"

Replace the air box and tighten the two fixing screws.

Replace the 3 cover fixing screws.

Replace the 3 cover fixing screws.
    • Replace the air box and tighten the two fixing screws.

    • Replace the 3 cover fixing screws.

  11. 
Reconnect the two-part air line and sensor

Reclip the engine cover.
    • Reconnect the two-part air line and sensor

    • Reclip the engine cover.

    • Check that the glow plugs are working properly

Thanks for this tutorial. , but I gave up. The spark plugs at the back of the block are not visible. In addition, the one on the right side is practically inaccessible in a jumble of hoses. Too much risk of breakage. :(
