Introduction
Here we are going to replace the exterior mirror on Ford Fiesta V, in this case it is the right mirror with manual control without defrosting.
Tools
Parts
-
-
Open the door as far as it will go and lower the window completely to make it easier to remove the rearview mirror.
-
Turn the rubber of the manual control lever a quarter turn counterclockwise, then pull it towards you to remove it.
-
Lightly pinch the control cable retaining plastic and push it toward the inside of the trim.
-
-
-
1: Place a flat plastic tool on the side, between the door body and the interior trim, in order to unclip it, then 2: shift the trim to the right in order to extract it.
-
Finish removing the trim by hand, making sure to remove the control cable.
-
The mirror is held in place by a 10mm hex head screw, and two metal clips which each hold a plastic clip.
-
-
-
Start by removing the two metal clips, simply slide them down by hand or using flat nose pliers.
-
Loosen the screw using a ratchet wrench with a 10mm socket and an extension.
-
While holding the mirror from the outside, pinch the two plastic clips that still hold the mirror either by hand or using flat-nose pliers.
-
-
-
Remove the rearview mirror from the outside, making sure to pass the control cable through the passage hole.
-
Check that the new mirror matches the old one in terms of the control cable and its fixings.
-
-
-
Install the new mirror, starting by passing the control cable through the hole provided.
-
Position the mirror so that each clip is opposite their respective holes.
-
Position the 10 screw and tighten it using the ratchet wrench with socket. When tightened, the clips are put in place.
-
Replace the two metal clips that hold the plastic clips, to do this slide them upwards.
-
-
-
Pass the control cable through the interior trim hole until it snaps back into place.
-
Replace the interior trim 1: Start by inserting the right part and 2: finish by clipping the left side.
-
Replace the control lever rubber and turn it a quarter turn clockwise to its final position.

Great tutorial, operation successful, but now how to hold the removable part
Which no longer holds although I don't see anything broken
I press hard to see if it clips but nothing works, I feel the resistance of a spring
Is it possible to repair because with the confinement the stores and scrapyards are closed
