Introduction

Tutorial made on Peugeot 206 1.9 D

  1. Identify the air box

    • Remove the clamp and disconnect the air supply line to the engine

    • Remove the air box by pulling upwards

  3. Use the crowbar and a wooden block to pry the clutch fork to loosen the cable. Remove the end of the cable from its housing

    • For removal, you can ask someone to press the clutch pedal and simply come and hold it with the crowbar.

    • To reinstall it, you will still have to use leverage on the fork.

  4. Locate the cable attachment on the pedal Remove the end of the cable from its housing using pliers or a screwdriver

    • Pull the cable from the engine compartment: it must come free from the penetration into the passenger compartment

    • Remove the cable which should come out without any particular effort once the ends are free

  5. Compare the old and new cable: they must be identical Install the new cable by following the steps in reverse order.

    • Check that the ends of the cable fit correctly into their respective housings.

    • Perform a test to confirm proper operation

Hello. Thank you for this tutorial which helped me a lot. I still suggest, as in other video tutorials, to remove the battery and the battery box to better follow the cable routing, without that I would not have been able to succeed.

Thanks for this tutorial, it helps a lot!!

I managed to remove the old clutch cable, the new one is identical but it is too short...I installed the end on the clutch pedal side but the other end (clutch/engine side) is a few centimeters too short (3 to 5 centimeters).

My 206 is a 1.4L HDI from 01/2004 and I took this part reference on Oscaro: Clutch cable - TRW - GCC124

Do you have any idea what the problem is?
