Introduction

First of all, remember to turn off the engine and remove the keys from the ignition.

View Battery

Using the pawl and from the 10 socket loosen the negative terminal (black wire), then the positive terminal (red wire)

Locate the screw on the battery retaining flange

Using the ratchet, the extension, and the TORX T30 socket, unscrew then remove the screw and the retaining flange

Remove the battery
    • Locate the screw on the battery retaining flange

    • Using the ratchet, the extension, and the TORX T30 socket, unscrew then remove the screw and the retaining flange

    • Remove the battery

Compare the electrical characteristics of batteries

Rest of the new battery

Remove the protective caps from the terminals
    • Compare the electrical characteristics of batteries

    • Rest of the new battery

    • Remove the protective caps from the terminals

Reposition the retaining flange and the torx screw

Connect the battery, starting with the negative pole (black wire)

Please make sure to tighten the terminals properly.
    • Reposition the retaining flange and the torx screw

    • Connect the battery, starting with the negative pole (black wire)

    • Please make sure to tighten the terminals properly.

and that doesn't reset the counter for the next oil change?

Fix to the procedure described in the video:

- first disconnect the negative terminal

-then disconnect the positive terminal

Reconnecting the terminals:

-start by reconnecting the positive terminal (the key can touch a metal part, no electric arc)

-end with the negative terminal
