  3. Open the engine oil supply cap to facilitate draining
    • Open the engine oil supply cap to facilitate draining

    • Remove the drain plug and drain the oil.

    • Change the copper seal on the cap, put a little new oil on the seal then screw the cap back on.

    • Using a filter wrench (preferably a claw wrench), remove the filter

    • Remember to have a basin to collect the oil from the filter.

    • Check that the new filter is identical to the old one

    • Put a little new oil with your finger on the filter seal then screw it back in, first by hand then lightly with the filter wrench

    • Do not overtighten the new filter

    • Fill up with oil, use approximately 4L to 4.3L of new oil.

    • Close the cap, then start the engine.

    • Check for leaks for 1 to 2 minutes at the filter and drain plug.

    • Turn off the engine and adjust the oil level

    • Replace the engine guard starting with the 2 clips, then the 7 screws.
