Introduction

Here are the different steps to follow to replace the fuel filter on Mégane 4 1.6 DCI 130/1.5 DCI

  1. 
Climb and place a jack stand on the right rear side of the car (leave the jack in place to secure)

  2. 
- take the 10 socket wrench and unscrew the screw of the small housing (you can see the fuel filter through the hole in the housing, see red circle)

    • - unscrew the two metal nuts by hand

  3. 
Remove the crankcase, we can see the fuel filter (see red circle)

    • Place the drain pan under the filter to collect the fuel

    • Take the socket wrench with the 32 socket and release the filter by loosening it a quarter turn.

  4. 
Completely unscrew the small drain plug located at the end of the filter

Finish unscrewing the filter with the 32 socket. (Be careful, the bowl is full of diesel even after emptying the excess with the drain plug)

compare the new filter with the one you just removed

Remove the plastic cap
    • Remove the plastic cap

  8. 
Install and tighten the new filter
    • Install and tighten the new filter

  9. 
Reassemble the casing with the screw + the two nuts
    • Reassemble the casing with the screw + the two nuts

    • Get behind the wheel, press the start button without using the clutch or braking.

    • A light is displayed indicating that the fuel pump is starting up, allowing the circuit to be re-primed.

    • Wait until the light goes out to start the car (1-2 minutes)

OK, I put the jack but afterwards, the view does not allow me to know where I am on the car ... nor at the end where you put a view of the entire housing where you loosen the filter. Are we at the front somewhere under the engine or at the back under the tank area or nearby? The position of the jack is not enough to understand. A short explanatory sentence would prevent novices from asking this kind of question?
