Introduction
These are cylinders with ball cage on a Mercedes-Benz C-Class W204 Phase 1 AMG 6.2 i V8 Saloon

Operate the engine hood opening system. The pull tab (red) is located under the steering wheel, slightly to the left.

We will first take care of the right cylinder (on the left in front of the car)

There are 2 attachment points, one linked to the hood and another linked to the engine compartment.

Each ball joint attachment point is held in place by a small metal tab (top and bottom).

Remember to secure the hood from above or use a wedge to prevent it from falling on you during handling.

Using a flat screwdriver, lift the metal tab at the top then at the bottom.

No need to remove it completely to disengage the cylinder, which will avoid catching it in the eyes or losing it in the engine compartment.

Remember to clean the ball joints with a cloth (for example, the top one)

Compare old models with new ones (size, ball joint locking system, etc.)

No need to add grease because the new cylinders are often already greased inside the location where the ball joint will be placed, there is also no need to take the metal tabs from the old ones because the new ones are also provided with them.

Position the new cylinder facing the ball joint and push to make it fit. When it "clicks", the lower part is fixed. Do the same for the upper part and that's it for the right cylinder.

All you have to do now is follow the same procedure for the left cylinder.
