Replacing a used air filter with a new air filter

Tools

  1. 
The air filter unit containing the air filter to be replaced is located at the front in the engine compartment on the passenger side.
    • The air filter unit containing the air filter to be replaced is located at the front in the engine compartment on the passenger side.

  2. 
The block cover is held in place by 4 Torx T 25 head screws (one at the front, one at the rear and two on the driver's side) and by a system of 3 notches on the passenger side.

Unscrew the 4 screws one after the other.

Tilt the hood toward the passenger side to disengage the 3 notches

    • Unscrew the 4 screws one after the other.

    • Tilt the hood toward the passenger side to disengage the 3 notches

  3. 
Remove the used filter

Vacuum up the items at the bottom of the block

Place the new filter in its housing
    • Remove the used filter

    • Vacuum up the items at the bottom of the block

    • Place the new filter in its housing

  4. 
Reposition the hood above its location

Tilt the hood to engage the three notches

Tighten the 4 screws
    • Reposition the hood above its location

    • Tilt the hood to engage the three notches

    • Tighten the 4 screws
