Introduction

Operation carried out on VW Polo III Restyled 1.4 i 60cv driver side but it is identical on the passenger side.

  1. Steering rod Rocket side fixing Hose clamps

  2. Using a 22mm flat wrench, loosen the nut by half a turn.

  3. Using a 19mm socket remove the nut. Using a hammer, tap the screw to release the ball joint. Remove the connecting rod from the rocket.

  4. Lock the connecting rod with a 13mm flat wrench then loosen the ball joint by hand. Count the number of laps and write it down somewhere so you don't forget. For me, 19 laps.

    • Remove the nut

  5. You can remove the small collar by inserting a small flathead screwdriver into the gap and prying it up. To remove the large collar, take a large flat screwdriver that you place on the bump then tap on your screwdriver with a hammer. Please do not forget the geometry adjustment. It is essential.

Small info The geometry is not obligatory if we adjust the nut to the same location as the old one I did it on my vehicle and never had any problem
