Introduction

The tutorial only covers the replacement of the rear axle. For this, it is necessary to remove the chainrings and open the brake circuit. The tutorial does not take into account the bleeding of the brake fluid.

  1. Remove the spare wheel. Remove the hubcaps. Using a 17 mm diameter socket, slightly loosen the 4 rear wheel studs on each side.

    • Drop the assembly to clear access to the hub plate and left rear shock absorber.

  6. Using a 11 mm diameter open-end wrench, remove the pipe connected to the rear brake cylinder. Plug the brake pipe to prevent the brake fluid from leaking. Be careful, the fluid is very corrosive, clean the parts that may have come into contact with special brake cleaner. Remove the lip seal from the spindle (marked in yellow). Remove the 4 screws from the rear brake plate using a 50 torx male socket (marked in orange).

Good evening, good tutorial, but on my 206 the 4 axle fixing screws are E13, not E16.

Never use a flat wrench to loosen or tighten a brake fitting. Use a pipe wrench otherwise the fitting will round off.
