Introduction

This tutorial helps you to change the oil and filter on Opel Vectra B 2L dti 100 hp

  2. remove the plastic cover under the passenger door Place the jack in order to raise the car (flat and stable ground) then place a candle under the cradle to ensure your safety. See tutorial ( Securing the vehicle: removing and refitting the wheel )
  3. remove the protective plate unscrew the 4 screws using a large screwdriver unscrew the 4 screws using a large screwdriver

  4. Place a pan under the sump plug Loosen the crankcase plug (photo 2) with a T45 torx bit Let the oil drain into the pan

  5. Loosen the oil filter with a 36mm socket (no need to remove the hoses around it to remove the filter, just push them in by hand) Unscrew the filter by hand then remove the Remove the oil filter from the bell

  6. Compare old and new oil filter (height, length) Compare old and new oil filter (height, length)

  7. Remove the gasket around the bell with a small screwdriver then clean the filter bell with a cloth in photo 2 we see the old and the new bell seal also change the small seal (red arrow in photo 1)

    • bottom seal in photo 3 (the old seal as well as the new one)

  8. Snap the new oil filter onto the bell Snap the new oil filter onto the bell

  9. Replace the new oil filter then tighten the oil filter with a 36mm socket Replace the new oil filter then tighten the oil filter with a 36mm socket

  10. change the crankcase plug gasket Screw the crankcase plug back in by hand then tighten with the T45 torx key

  11. wipe the oil pan well Replace the protective plate under the engine and tighten the 4 screws
    • wipe the oil pan well

  12. Unscrew the filler cap pour oil
    • Unscrew the filler cap

    • pour oil

    • Start the engine, let it run for a minute, then turn it off.

  13. pull the oil dipstick The correct oil level should be just below the maximum, if this is not the case add oil to reach the correct level
    • pull the oil dipstick

    • Reposition the oil dipstick

    • Screw the filler cap back on.
