Hello everyone,

So even if it's not my first oil change, it's not my job and it was my first oil change with this brand of vehicle (same engine but a Carens). It's always reassuring for me to read the tutorial before, and to have it on hand.

So a big thank you to those who take the time to write this.

For those who may be able to help: while doing the oil change (kia carens 1.7 Crdi 136 hp) I noticed when removing the oil filter cap that the plastic rod attached to the cap, and which passes through the oil filter, was broken. I managed to remove the oil filter by hand but not this rod. Impossible to remove it by pulling on it (not much strength to pull because at fingertips), I pass a small strap and managed to remove it by forcing).

I try to reassemble the assembly without this rod and therefore without the O-ring located at the end, but when restarting the red oil can light comes on. I only found the complete cap at Kia for €12.

After replacement everything is ok.

Thanks again

Hello, yes, normal direction for quoting, namely counterclockwise. Good luck

Good morning !

When looking at the crankcase plug straight on, should you unscrew it counterclockwise?

THANKS

Excellent and very practical, given that you do not have to remove the engine guard under the car to access the oil pan plug. Thanks for this tutorial
