Introduction
You will carry out the oil change of your engine as well as the change of the oil filter on Alfa Romeo Mito 1.3 JTDM 90/85/80cv
-
-
Raise the car and place jack stands, slide a piece of cardboard and the drain pan under the engine block: Securing the vehicle: removing and refitting the wheel
-
Unscrew the yellow cap, the oil will drain better
-
Carry out the oil change when the engine is hot (after a journey for example), as the oil is more fluid when hot and will flow more easily
-
-
-
Install the new O-rings on the filter (two on the filter, one on the bracket)
-
Oil the seals with new oil (the engine oil you are going to put in) using your finger or a brush
-
Reposition le nouveau filtre à huile in his accommodation
-
-
-
Go back under the car, remove the drain pan, replace the drain plug (with a 2 kilo torque wrench and just block it if you don't have one)
-
Reassemble the oil filter cover and the hose in the opposite direction that you removed it (the torx bolts are also just blocked, they are in aluminum and it is fragile)
-
Put the funnel in place so that you can pour the oil cleanly.
-
-
-
Slowly pour in 3 liters of engine oil and check the level.
-
For the level: remove the dipstick, wipe it, put it back and add oil then start again to get the right level (at the maximum, especially not more risk of destroying the engine!)
-
Once the level is correct, close the yellow cap
-
Get behind the wheel, start, monitor the oil pressure light (it should go out 4 seconds maximum after starting. Let it run for a minute then turn it off and top up the level (the filter and the rocker arm rail fill up with oil and need to be topped up)
-
Note on the sticker provided behind the can the mileage of the oil change and the mileage of the next one. The interval between two oil changes is 20,000 km, I do it every 10,000 for the longevity of the engine, it's up to you!

Hello, I have an Alpha 1.3 Mito JTDM registered on 06/15/2012 - I understood that there were two types of oil filter. How can I be sure of my choice to order the right one? Thank you

Hello Pierre-Yves,
For the Mi.to 1.3 JTDM there is only one type of oil filter, to be sure compare the dimensions,
In the proposed list they are all identical, the few millimeters of difference from one brand to another are not discriminating,
If there were two types of oil filters then there would be two references offered by brands https://www.oscaro.com/filtre-a-huile-al...
I advise you https://www.oscaro.com/filtre-a-huile-kn...
Yours sincerely.
Good morning,
Is it possible to have the references for the Alfa Mito 1.4 T 120hp engine oil please?
Are there different lengths offered in your oil filter references?
Thanks in advance

Hello Arnaud,
For the Alfa Mi.to 1.4 turbo 120hp you can't go wrong, all the filters offered in the list are the same, the same for the engine oil, you just have to choose the price or the brand, I advise you:

Motul 5W40 https://www.oscaro.com/huile-moteur-motu...

Good morning ,
This is specified in the introduction.
Yours sincerely,
