Oil change and oil filter replacement - Peugeot 106 1.4i

Place a basin under the oil pan

With the help of a 24 pipe wrench loosen the drain plug

Remove the drain plug by hand

Place a basin under the oil filter

With the help of a filter wrench loosen the oil filter

Remove the oil filter by hand and let the oil drain into the basin

Apply some brake cleaner on the location of the oil filter

Clean with a cloth

Compare the dimensions of the new filter with the old one

Height and diameter

Apply oil to the oil filter gasket

Replace the oil filter in its location by screwing it in by hand quite tightly.

Replace the oil pan plug by hand

Tighten the cap using the 24 pipe wrench

Place your car on relatively flat ground and open the hood.

Remove the engine oil filler cap

Pour in about 3.25l of engine oil

Favor a 5w40 engine oil for the 1.4i engine

Pull out the oil level dipstick and wipe off the old level

Replace the gauge

Pull the dipstick out again to check the new oil level

The correct level should be just below the max (red arrow)

Add oil if needed

If the level is correct, replace the dipstick and oil filler cap
