How to change the oil and filter on a Peugeot 106 1.4i (tutorial made on 106 xsi 1.4 - TU3J2)

Place a basin under the oil pan

With the help of a 24 pipe wrench loosen the drain plug

Remove the drain plug by hand

Place a basin under the oil filter

With the help of a filter wrench loosen the oil filter

-
Remove the oil filter by hand and let the oil drain into the basin
-

-
Compare the dimensions of the new filter with the old one

Height and diameter
-

Replace the oil filter in its location by screwing it in by hand quite tightly.

Replace the oil pan plug by hand

Tighten the cap using the 24 pipe wrench
-

-
Place your car on relatively flat ground and open the hood.

Remove the engine oil filler cap
-
-
-
Pour in about 3.25l of engine oil
-
Favor a 5w40 engine oil for the 1.4i engine
-
-
-
Replace the gauge
-
Pull the dipstick out again to check the new oil level
-
The correct level should be just below the max (red arrow)
-
Add oil if needed
-
If the level is correct, replace the dipstick and oil filler cap
