Introduction
Engine oil change and oil filter change on Ford c-max 2008 1.6 TDCi 16V 90hp
-
-
Raise the vehicle to gain easier access underneath to remove the lower engine cover: Securing the vehicle: removing and refitting the wheel
-
Use a candle for added safety.
-
If you do not know where the lifting points are, you can refer to the vehicle document. These remain quite visible because they are reinforced with sheet metal.
-
-
-
In the photo you can see the arrows indicating the 7 screws to remove in order to extract the engine cover.
-
For this you will need a size 30 socket or 6-sided wrench.
-
Available on the oscaro website.
-
-
-
Then open the 2 holes indicated in the photo for better oil flow by air intake.
-
This is the filler cap as well as the engine oil level check dipstick.
-
-
-
In the first photo you can see the engine oil drain plug.
-
Il vous faudra une clé 6 pans de 21mm. -
Before unscrewing, slide the drip tray under the hole.
-
-
-
Let the oil flow for a while for better drainage.
-
Personally I change the rest of the filters in the meantime, which gives the oil time to drain completely.
-
Raise and remove the jack stand, to put the vehicle flat, to drain the remaining oil.
-
Raise the vehicle and replace the jack stand.
-
-
-
After all the oil has drained, put a new gasket on the drain plug, reassemble it and tighten everything moderately.
-
-
-
In the pictures you will be able to see where the oil filter is located.
-
It is inside a bell that will need to be unscrewed with a 27mm socket or pipe wrench.
-
Once the new filter is reassembled, don't forget to change the bell gasket which is normally supplied with the filter.
-
-
-
Once all these steps are completed, you will be able to put oil back in the engine. To do this, the vehicle must be flat, so the jack stand must be removed.
-
The 1.6 TDCI holds 3.8 liters of oil.
-
Index 5W30 standard ACEA A5/B5 A1/B1 according to the manufacturer's instructions.
-
-
-
Then warm up the engine for 5 minutes, before checking your engine oil level with the dipstick shown in the photo. The correct oil level should be just below the maximum.
-
Be careful not to exceed the maximum level! -
You can then replace the engine cover.
-
Drop off your used oil, along with the filter, at a collection point.

How to clear the “change engine oil” warning message on the dashboard?

Hello, to reset this message, you have to press the brake pedal + the accelerator pedal, turn on the ignition and wait 15-20 seconds until this message disappears. Then another one is displayed, like "Reset OK".
Hello, I wanted to know if you can do the oil change yourself on a 2008 C-MAX 1.6L TDCi 90hp diesel without any problem, because I'm told that you have to run it through the computer to even reset the vehicle information, otherwise it's crap afterwards.

Good evening,
I got my c-max at 100,000km, it now has 220,000km and I have always done the maintenance myself without any problems.
No worries, you can go.
Good morning.
Yes, the best thing is to remove the hose that goes from the air filter to the turbo.
