Oil change and filter on Peugeot 306 phase 2

Unscrew the crankcase plug using a ratchet and the 19 socket.

Place a basin or a drain can under the sump

Continue by hand then remove the cap

Let the oil flow into the jerrycan

Pull the hood release handle

Open the hood

Locate the oil filter

Place the filter wrench around the filter, tighten the wrench and turn it until the filter turns easily

Place a basin under the filter location

Unscrew the filter by hand

Remove filter

Once the old filter is removed, compare it to the new one

Apply oil to the gasket of the new oil filter

Clean the oil filter location with brake cleaner then wipe dry

Place the new oil filter in its location, screw it in by hand until it locks.

During this time, the crankcase was emptied of engine oil.

Wipe with a cloth to clean off any oil residue.

Screw on the new cap

Screw the cap on by hand

Then continue with the ratchet using the 19 socket to tighten firmly.

Locate the engine oil cap

Remove it

Pour about 3 liters of oil

Close the cap

Start the engine, the oil change light should go out, otherwise add oil

Turn off the engine

Check the oil level on the dipstick

Top up the level if it is too low

Close the cap
