Introduction
This tutorial will help you perform the oil change and the oil filter change on a Fiat Stilo 1 JTD 115 hp active2002

View the sump plug under the vehicle

Perform a few light hammer blows on the crankcase plug to facilitate loosening.

Position the oil pan under the crankcase to collect the oil that will flow out.

Loosen the crankcase plug using a ratchet and an 8 mm Allen key.

Remove the crankcase plug by unscrewing it by hand
-
Let the oil drain into the pan

View the oil filter
-
Place the oil filter wrench on the oil filter and loosen the

Unscrew the oil filter by hand and remove it from its location
-

-
Compare old and new oil filter (height, width and length)
-
Using your finger, oil all around the seal of the new oil filter.

Position the new gasket on the crankcase plug
-

-
Clean the oil filter holder using a clean cloth
-
Hand-tighten the new oil filter onto its bracket.
-
-
-
Clean the location of the crankcase plug with a cloth.
-
Screw the crankcase cap back on by hand then tighten with a ratchet and an 8 mm Allen key.

Remove the jack stands and jack from your vehicle so that it is on a level surface.

Visualize and unscrew the oil filler cap
-
Position a funnel
-
Pour in about 4.5 liters of oil then let the oil flow into the engine for about 1 minute

Locate the gauge
-
Remove the dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth.

Re-insert the oil dipstick
-

-
Remove the gauge again
-
The oil level should be just below the max, readjusted little by little (by adding oil) if the oil level is not just below the max
-
Re-immerse the gauge
-
Screw the oil cap back on
-

Start the engine
-
Let the engine run for about 1 minute then turn off the engine

I couldn't unscrew the crankcase plug. I even bent 1 socket and broke another one trying!
